What we build

If it makes a South Florida house more fun to live in, we design it, pull the wire, hang it, program it, and stay until you can run it without a binder.

Home theater

Dedicated cinemas and living-room theaters. Big picture, real surround, seats you actually want to sit in.

Whole-home audio

Music that follows you from the kitchen to the pool. Different song in the gym. Same playlist for the party.

Smart home

Lights, shades, climate, music, and video on one system. Movie mode that actually dims and drops the shades.

Lighting and shades

Keypads that feel like the house, not a science project. Natural ramps. No popcorn lights.

Networking

The backbone. Wired drops, a clean rack, Wi-Fi that holds 4K in every bedroom.

Outdoor living

Patio, pool, and lanai audio and TV built for Florida heat, salt, and afternoon storms.

Video everywhere

Wall-mounted TVs with hidden wire. Distributed video so the game is on in more than one room.

Security and cameras

Cameras and access that live on the same network as the rest of the house.

New construction

Prewire, weekly site walks, finish-out. We stay ahead of drywall so you are not cutting it open later.

Home theater and media rooms

Dedicated home theater

A real theater at home is not a giant TV and a soundbar. It is a room that goes dark, a picture that holds up in 4K and 8K, and sound that puts you in the middle of the game or the film. We design dedicated cinemas and we also turn family rooms into media rooms that still look like a house during the day.

We handle screen size and viewing distance, speaker layout including Dolby Atmos when the ceiling allows it, acoustic treatment, lighting scenes, motorized shades, seating, and the rack that feeds it. Netflix, Apple TV, cable, disc, gaming. One remote. Lights dim. Shades drop. Show starts.

Dedicated cinema

Dark room, acoustic panels, projector or premium display, reclining seats, a door that shuts. Tuned for your seats.

Living-room theater

When the family lives in the room. Hidden speakers, a clean mount, a system that can be loud for football and quiet on a weeknight.

Calibration

Picture and sound get measured and set. The first night should feel finished, not we will tweak it later.

Whole-home and outdoor audio

Kitchen with in-ceiling speakers

Walk from the kitchen to the patio and the music comes with you. Play something different in the bedroom. Hit party mode and the whole house is on the same track. Architectural speakers where you do not want to see boxes. A rack that stays cool. Control on the phone or a keypad.

New construction gets prewired before the drywall. Existing homes get a mix of in-ceiling, in-wall, and discreet wireless where opening walls does not make sense. Outdoor zones use weather-rated speakers and amps that survive Florida.

Smart home, lighting, and shades

Lighting keypad and motorized shade

A smart house is not twenty apps. It is one system that knows Good morning, Away, Movie, and Dinner. Lights ramp the way they should. Shades handle the west-facing glass before the room cooks. Climate, music, and the alarm can ride along when the platform supports it.

We spec Control4, Savant, or Nice when the project calls for a real control system. Lighting keypads get engraved for how you live. Motorized shades tie to time of day and to theater mode so you are not walking the room before kickoff.

Lighting control

Scenes, ramps, and keypads that match the paint and the millwork. LED loads that actually dim.

Motorized shades

Solar control for South Florida glass. Privacy at night. Blackout for the theater and the primary.

One-touch scenes

Arrive home, leave, entertain, sleep. The house does the boring part so you do not.

Networking, racks, and cameras

Clean network rack and patch panel

None of the fun gear works if the network is a consumer router in a laundry cabinet. We design structured wiring, managed switches, access points that cover the lot, and a rack with power that can reboot a frozen box without a truck roll. Cameras sit on that same network.

Structured wiring

Cat6 and fiber where the house will still want it in ten years. Patch panels labeled like somebody will service this.

Wi-Fi that holds

Access points placed on purpose. 4K in the bedroom. Cameras that do not knock the kids off a game.

Power and racks

Intelligent power, ventilation, cable dress you can work in later.

Outdoor living

Pool and lanai with outdoor TV

South Florida lives outside. A covered lanai with a TV for the game, landscape speakers in the palms, volume that does not blast the neighbors, and gear that does not rust out after one wet season. The yard is another room on the system, not an afterthought Bluetooth speaker.

How a project runs

New construction low voltage prewire

1. Walk the house

Rooms, glass, rack space, what you already own, how you actually live. No pitch deck.

2. Design

Speaker and display layout, control, lighting, network. We stand by the design. CAD when the builder needs it.

3. Prewire or retrofit

New homes get weekly site visits so boxes and speakers land before drywall.

4. Finish, program, teach

Install, calibrate, then sit with you until the remote and the app make sense.

Name-brand equipment

We spec what the house needs, not what is sitting on a counter. Control: Control4, Savant, Nice, Lutron. Audio and theater: Marantz, Denon, Sony, Sonos, Klipsch, Triad, Parasound, AudioControl. Lighting, shades, outdoor video, and cameras from the same class of gear. If a product belongs in the design, we can usually get it.

All of South Florida

Miami · Coral Gables · Pinecrest · Aventura · Fort Lauderdale · Weston · Parkland · Boca Raton · Delray · Highland Beach · Palm Beach · West Palm Beach · Palm Beach Gardens · Jupiter · Stuart · Florida Keys.

New construction, remodels, and one-room upgrades. Big job or a clean TV wall. Same standard.

Who shows up

myAVguru is the AV and smart home brand of Starlight Music DJ Service, LLC. Fifteen-plus years in the trade, a low-voltage instructor at Palm Beach State College, and a long run as a DJ. That last part matters more than it sounds. We know how a room should feel when people are in it.

Let’s walk the house.

Tell us the rooms that bother you and the rooms you want to show off. We will come look, talk through options, and send a clear plan. South Florida wide.
